Fredericksburg: Western Heaven!

OK, I already knew that Fredericksburg was an awesome place to visit, because I'd been there many times before. But a few weeks ago, I ventured down for a day trip to see how Fredericksburg worked for us cowboys and cowgirls. Here were my favorite stops!

  • Shoulda Been a Cowboy - 153 E. Main, 830-997-9095. If cowboy decor is your thing (of course it is!) then Shoulda Been a Cowboy is a first stop for you. Lots of cute, affordable Western decor, plus great jewelry and pretty spurs.
  • Remember Me, too. 109 E. Main, 830-997-6444. High-end clothing (Ivy Jane, Double D) and house wares, all with a vintage-y cowgirl vibe. Absolutely wonderful.
  • Fredericksburg Bakery. 141 E. Main, 830-997-3254. There are no words for how fabulous this little bakery is. The baked goods were PHENOMENAL -- it was hard to stop at just a few cookies and fruit bars. I had potato soup that was the best soup I've ever eaten (and that's saying a lot since I have some great New York soup haunts.) You must stop here and eat!
  • Hill Country Outfitters, 115 E. Main, 830-997-3761. The owner/buyer of this store has a refined eye and captures the true Texas spirit for women who want to dress casual chic, but not necessarily Western. Lots of great guy stuff, too.
  • Leathers With Style, 123 E. Main, 830-997, 6001. One whiff of this leather-filled store and you'll be hooked. Leather bags galore, from pricey to very affordable.
  • Spunky Monkey, 108 E. M Main, 830-990-2384. What shopping trip would be complete without a perfect toy store? Lots of great collectibles, plus fun, inexpensive toys. My 8-year-old wanted everything!
